Ministry of DJs is a wedding and event entertainment agency founded by Andy Kay, whose career has covered the planning and running of some of the biggest events around the world, including a DJ set for Australia's returning Tokyo Olympians and Paralympians. The business calls itself a matchmaker of DJs to dance floors, personally pairing each couple with a DJ or musician to suit their vision, vibe and vows. The team brings more than 20 years of experience to weddings, parties, corporate and major events.
Couples start with a questionnaire about their musical style, crowd and plans, then speak with a dedicated event manager before being matched with a DJ and sent their bio. A call with the DJ before the day confirms the music, and the team liaises with the venue on bump in and bump out. Wedding hire includes a personalised playlist with live mixing, MC duties where needed, disco lighting and quality audio, and every entertainer has at least five years of experience.
Live add ons include saxophone, percussion and acoustic acts, and there are photo booths too. In Melbourne the team plays weddings from the CBD, St Kilda and Fitzroy to the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Dandenong Ranges and the Bellarine, and it also covers Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and destination weddings in Greece and Europe.
