Lucy Suze Taylor is a Sydney marriage celebrant and MC based in Petersham in the Inner West, where she describes herself as a Vespa riding, dog loving mother of two. She has been marrying couples since 2012, a much loved side hustle that became her main gig. Lucy says she became a celebrant because she had attended too many boring weddings, and she believes a ceremony should set the tone for the biggest party of your life, full of laughter, tears and love.
Her background as a performer, voice over artist and singer shows in the way she holds a crowd. Lucy calls herself a wordsmith and a lover of your stories, and she gets to know each couple well so their ceremony feels personal and unique. She rarely does more than one ceremony a day, so every wedding gets her full energy, and she describes her style as vibrant, fun and proudly LGBTQI friendly.
Her site lists three ceremony packages: a full service Platinum ceremony, a Gold package for micro weddings and elopements of around 15 minutes, and a Silver legals only ceremony. The full service includes planning meetings and a rehearsal, her resources for vows, readings and rituals, all legal paperwork and lodgement, a printed commemorative certificate, vow keep cards and a professional PA system. On the day she helps with photo placements, liaises with your vendors and makes sure you both get a glass of champagne after the ceremony.
Lucy also works as a wedding MC, so guests who met her at the ceremony see her keep the reception on time and help the photographer gather family for group shots. Beyond weddings she is also a funeral celebrant. Her blog shares her delight at being named Best Celebrant in Sydney, and she lists profiles on Wedshed and Dancing with Her. Weddings featured on her site include ceremonies at McKell Park, the William Inglis Hotel and Bendooley Estate in the Southern Highlands.
