Lillypad Flowers was founded in 2001 by Lilly Mance in Melbourne's inner north, starting with two retail stores in Reservoir and now working from a creative hub and warehouse in Preston. Lilly sources seasonal blooms and foliage, designs bespoke pieces and mentors the team, while co-owner Paul Mance runs operations and logistics. Paul is also a committee member of Wedding Services Melbourne, and the studio delivers more than 200 weddings each year.
The wedding team covers everything from bridal, bridesmaid and flower girl bouquets, buttonholes and corsages to ceremony arbours, aisle and hanging installations, reception centrepieces, bridal tables, welcome sign and cake flowers. Couples can choose fresh seasonal flowers, hire artificial silk pieces or combine both for larger installations. Planning starts with a consultation on ideas, colour palette, venue and budget, and the team coordinates delivery and setup with venue staff and planners.
Recent real weddings include Mai and Mike at Ormond House Chapel, Kat and Ryan's red and green florals at Three Foxes Distillery in Heidelberg and Ashlea and Nick's white and green flowers at Farm Vigano. The team styles weddings across Melbourne, Geelong, the Yarra Valley, the Mornington Peninsula and the Dandenong Ranges, and Sundays are kept for wedding and event setups.
