Jess Dowell of Just Jess Ceremonies is a full-time Tweed Heads celebrant creating relaxed, relatable and real ceremonies across the Gold Coast, Tweed and Northern Rivers.
Just Jess Ceremonies is run by Jess Dowell, a full-time marriage celebrant working from a home base in Tweed Heads and covering the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast, Byron Bay, the Northern Rivers and up to Brisbane. Her motto is relaxed, relatable and real. She describes herself as part celebrant, part calming presence and part organised wedding wing-person, and her site counts more than 350 ceremonies so far.
Every ceremony Jess writes starts from scratch. Couples get a personalised online planning portal with her vow writing guide, meet her to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage over a bite to eat, and fill in a couple's questionnaire so she can write a script that sounds like them. She limits her bookings to around 60 weddings a year so each couple gets her full time and energy.
On the day she arrives about an hour early to check in with you, greet guests and touch base with your vendors, and has your printed vows ready. Jess says give her five minutes at your wedding and she will have chatted to your family, your bridal party and your venue coordinator. Afterwards she registers the marriage and, for full weddings, orders your official certificate, plus sends a checklist for post-wedding name changes.
Her ceremony options are The Whole Shebang for full weddings, elopements and micro weddings, vow renewals, and legal-only ceremonies, which run on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Outside of work Jess has been married for eleven years, is raising two primary schoolers with a golden retriever named Sunny, and loves live music, a good dance and a conversation that goes somewhere unexpected.
