Joshua Mikhaiel is a Brisbane based wedding and elopement photographer working in a mostly photojournalistic, documentary style. The focus is on honest moments rather than stiff poses or copied Pinterest shots: the quiet details, the tangled veil, the little tears and the connection between people. On the wedding day Joshua listens, joins in and gets to know the story being told, so the photos carry the feeling of the day and not just how it looked.
Joshua takes a limited number of commissions each year and likes to hear a couple's story and meet face to face before any paperwork. Wedding coverage includes Joshua's time on the day and every photo edited by Joshua, delivered in a private high resolution online gallery about four to six weeks after the wedding, where prints, frames and calendars can also be ordered. Engagement sessions and elopements are offered too, along with wedding films that have a natural, home movie feel.
Travel is included for weddings within about two hours' drive, which takes in Brisbane, Toowoomba and Byron Bay, and interstate or overseas weddings get an all inclusive quote. Recent weddings on the blog include The Refinery in Brisbane, The Woods Ravensbourne near Toowoomba, Cowbell Creek and Wolgan Valley, plus an elopement at The Calile Hotel.
