By James Gough Wedding Photography is the work of James, a self-described new wave wedding and elopement photographer who covers the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands and Greater Sydney. His real weddings include Book Barn at Bendooley in the Southern Highlands, Lithgow State Mine in the Blue Mountains, Ravensthorpe in Wollongong and Sergeants Mess in Sydney, along with intimate elopements at secret spots in the mountains.
James describes his approach as a little cinematic, a little nostalgic, a little epic and a little fun, and says he is not the photographer for traditional, cookie-cutter wedding photos. He approaches each day with fresh eyes, paying attention to light, composition and landscape, and while he leans toward moody tones, smiles are still his favourite. Outside weddings he also photographs events, sports, portraits and live music.
Couples can book photography only for six or nine hours, or an all-day photo and video package with two photographers, a highlight film, same day polaroids and a pre-wedding session. Elopement coverage of up to four hours runs Monday to Thursday and includes help finding the right location. Enquiries go through the contact page or by phone.
