Jacqua Celebrant is Jacq, a non traditional marriage celebrant based in Wollongong who focuses on South Coast, Southern Highlands and Sydney weddings and is happy to travel further. Her own wedding started it all: in 2015 she and her husband eloped in the Nevada Desert, and their laid back celebrant inspired her to give Australian couples a similar experience. She has now spent a decade creating creative, fully personalised ceremonies.
Couples start with a questionnaire and a brainstorm over Zoom or in person, then Jacq writes a ceremony script around their story and guides them through the Notice of Intended Marriage. Together they decide everything from how to walk up the aisle to how to say I do. Packages cover full wedding ceremonies, elopements, co hosted ceremonies with a friend, vow renewals and legals only weddings, and adventure elopements are offered through Wander & Be.
Jacq runs a ceremony run through in the week of the wedding, arrives 60 minutes early on the day and brings a Bose PA system and microphone along with printed vow cards. Afterwards she registers the marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages and applies for the official marriage certificate. Her journal shares favourite South Coast venues and elopement spots.
