A Newcastle-based wedding photographer who has spent more than 15 years creating honest, feel good photographs of weddings and elopements across the Hunter Valley, Sydney and beyond.
Jack Chauvel Photography is the business of Jack Chauvel, a wedding photographer based in Newcastle and at home in the Hunter Valley, Sydney and wherever a couple's story takes him. He has photographed weddings since late 2010, across hundreds of weddings and elopements. Jack photographs all couples, all families and all people, and works as a one man band who focuses purely on photography rather than video.
His style is about telling a story: warm, fun, timeless and nostalgic photographs that take couples straight back to how the day felt. Jack reads the room, anticipates the moments and helps with timelines and light, then documents the day from start to finish. He also shoots on 35mm and medium format film on request, and designs bespoke fine art albums. He takes on a select number of weddings each year.
Jack and his wife Frankie moved from Sydney to Newcastle in 2021. Travel is included for weddings within three hours of Newcastle, covering Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands, the Hunter Valley and the Central Coast, and he has photographed destination weddings and elopements in Iceland, Italy, Croatia and Fiji.
