About Hideaway Lane
Hideaway Lane is an intimate wedding and events venue tucked into a laneway off Church Street in the centre of Wollongong, opposite Globe Lane and City Diggers. It is run by two sisters with more than 25 years of combined experience in weddings and events, and it specialises in small celebrations: weddings, micro weddings and elopements for roughly 5 to 50 guests, with the venue booked for exclusive private use.
The venue sits in a historic mid-century building with Art Deco details, a light-filled garden room and a separate lounge area. Photos on its site show a brick-paved courtyard hung with chandeliers and ferns, arched window panels used as a ceremony backdrop, and wrought-iron and white garden chairs. It seats a maximum of 40 guests, or up to 60 standing for a cocktail-style event, and ceremonies are held on site.
Every wedding package includes exclusive use, an event coordinator, styling with dried native botanicals, a candle package, crockery, glassware and linen, and use of the audio system. Drinks are BYO with no corkage fee, and staff are provided to serve them. Packages step up from a one-hour ceremony for ten guests to a three-hour Luxe Micro Wedding for thirty, plus a custom-quoted Platinum All Inclusive option that adds a planner, photographer, musician and florals.
For couples who simply want to make it official, Hideaway Lane also runs Elopement Days on set dates through the year, with 30-minute ceremonies for up to five guests and a celebrant and bouquet included. The venue was named #1 for the Illawarra and Southern Highlands at the Wedding Industry Awards in 2025 and 2026. Parking is nearby, and the Free Gong Shuttle stops a minute's walk away. GST inclusive, as published in the venue's Wedding Packages guide (January 2026): Simply I Do, 1 hour for up to 10 guests, $1,430; Ever After Elope, 2 hours for up to 15 guests, $2,500; Elope and Graze, 3 hours for up to 20 guests, $3,450; After I Do reception, 3 hours for up to 20 guests, $3,650; Luxe Micro Wedding, 3 hours for up to 30 guests, $5,500; Platinum All Inclusive by custom quote. Additional guests are charged per person. Elopement Days are $999 for up to 5 guests with a celebrant included. Confirm current rates when you enquire.
