Earlando
A private 6,000-acre coastal estate north of Airlie Beach, closed to the public and hired exclusively for one wedding at a time, with private beaches, waterfront pavilions and island views.
About Earlando
Earlando is a private coastal property at Cape Gloucester, about 40 minutes north of Airlie Beach, spread across more than 6,000 acres of Whitsunday coastland. It is closed to the public and access is by invitation only, so on your wedding day the whole estate is yours: private beaches, waterfront pavilions, bushland, the original cattle yards and a mountain range looking over the Whitsunday Islands.
The property has had several lives. In the 1960s Mr Earle and his stepfather Mr Anderssen combined their family names, the land became a working cattle station, and from the 1970s it ran as Earlando Resort, a local campsite and seaside restaurant. The resort closed in 2003, and in 2016 the family reopened the property for private events and weddings, starting with a 165-guest wedding for friends.
Ceremonies are held at the Island View Pavilion or the Seaside Pavilion, and receptions on a lawn of more than an acre beside the private beach, or on The Deck, a newer all-weather space with a fully serviced bar. There are no set packages: every wedding includes sole use of the property, and the owners coordinate your chosen suppliers in the lead-up and on the day.
Earlando operates in the dry season only, taking a maximum of 12 weddings a year between May and October, and it also hosts elopements and intimate weddings. Private coach transfers from Airlie Beach are included in all wedding packages, and guests can also arrive by helicopter, seaplane or boat. Owners Ben and Teena run the venue. Compare it with the other Queensland wedding venues.
