Caversham House
A Swan Valley homestead built in 1835 on the banks of the Swan River, with Versailles-inspired gardens, three ceremony spaces and receptions for up to 230 guests.
About Caversham House
Caversham House is a homestead established in 1835 in Caversham, in the Swan Valley, set on the banks of the Swan River with European-inspired gardens. It has catered for wedding functions since the 1960s and is a fully catered wedding venue, owned by the Lembo family since 1998. The grounds hold two indoor reception rooms, three garden reception areas and several ceremony locations, with a 160 bay carpark and a dedicated venue coordinator for every event.
The Hidden Gardens were inspired by the Gardens of Versailles, with three terraces, sandstone balustrades, hand-carved statues, a timber walkway, a private jetty and a four-storey waterfall. Above them sits the open-air Colonnade, reached through formal gardens lined with topiary trees and water features, with views over the river. The Garden House is the indoor ceremony option, with French doors opening to the gardens on three sides and reverse cycle air-conditioning for winter or summer.
Receptions are held in the Main House, the oldest building on the property, with crystal chandeliers, a working fireplace and seating for up to 180, or in the permanent Marquee with silk-lined ceilings, chandeliers and a built-in dancefloor for up to 230. The Garden House suits intimate lunches for up to 50, and the Colonnade and Hidden Gardens now take garden receptions. The Otium, a four-bedroom home on the grounds, offers couples a place to get ready. Compare it with the other Western Australian wedding venues.
