Cairns Tropical Marriages is owned and run by Tim Kelly, marrying couples across Tropical North Queensland, from Cairns and Port Douglas to the Tablelands, Innisfail and Mission Beach.
With more than a decade of experience as a Celebrant and Master of Ceremonies, Tim describes Celebrancy as a pleasure rather than a job, as he is surrounded by love and laughter.
Tim is a self-confessed incurable romantic with a firm belief in love and commitment, and the site is clear that every couple is welcome, whether straight, gay, trans or non-binary.
Couples deal with one person from first enquiry to the final signature... Tim, and he promises calm guidance and a professional, organised and adaptable approach. Ceremonies have been held everywhere from beaches and the rainforest, to backyards, fancy resorts and even a tattoo parlour.
The ceremony options run from a Legals Only wedding with two witnesses, suited to visa or cultural weddings, through to intimate Elopements, Personal Ceremonies, Renewals of Vows, and Commitment Ceremonies. Tim's favourite is the Personalised Ceremony, where each partner answers detailed questions and their own words are woven into their story. Couples who would rather write their own ceremony can choose Tim's Create Your Own Ceremony option, using a first draft template that Tim provides along with a variety of resources, with a final polish before approval.
Tim also works as a wedding MC, organising the bridal party after the ceremony, liaising with venue management and your musicians or DJ, keeping speeches, the first dance and cake cutting on track, and much, much more.
The site lists popular spots including Little Cove and St Mary's by the Sea in Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Fitzroy Island, the Cairns Botanic Gardens, the Cathedral Fig Tree, Lake Tinaroo and The Billabong in Kuranda, though Tim is happy to help couples find somewhere a little different.
