Bella E La Bestia Bridal is a wedding dress boutique in Maribyrnong, about 20 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, with a second location in Thabeban, Queensland. Started by two mumtrepreneurs in an open space warehouse, the boutique carries one of the largest dress collections in Melbourne, from simple and modern gowns to classic, vintage and extravagant styles, along with veils, hair pieces, earrings and hoops.
Appointments usually run for half an hour to an hour, and once the gown is chosen the consultants help each bride complete her look with a veil, shoes and jewellery. Sample sizes range from 6 to 26, and the Belle Curve collection offers plus size wedding dresses up to size 38. New orders are best placed 10 months to a year ahead, while sample gowns can suit brides marrying in as little as two months.
The boutique shares real bride stories on its blog, including Rachel and Kane at Leonards Hill Estate near Daylesford, Liam and Maddie at Scrub Hill, Teresa and Jacky at St Brendan's Church in Flemington and FIOR, and Danielle and Tom at St Patrick's in Kilmore. Dresses can also be shipped, and interstate brides have chosen their gowns over FaceTime.
