Ann Dally is the celebrant behind Kingscliff Marriage Celebrant, now based at Terranora, a little south of Tweed Heads. Her site says she has performed more than 1,500 ceremonies, or as she puts it, married over 3,000 brides and grooms. She is a former president of Australian Marriage Celebrants Inc. and also trains and mentors new and existing celebrants around the country, alongside working as a full time celebrant herself.

Ann describes herself as a creative writer and promises ceremonies that are personal rather than copied and pasted: fun, unique, intimate or traditional with a twist, with a little tradition only if you want it. She says she does most of the work to get the wording right, and calls herself friendly, calm and relaxed. She is also a public speaker and author, and is a Justice of the Peace as well as a Commonwealth appointed marriage celebrant.

Alongside full weddings, Ann offers small weekday ceremonies under her Weddings on a Shoe-String Budget banner, many held in the gardens of the two acre Terranora property she shares with her husband Steve. The setting looks over Terranora Lake to the Gold Coast and the Pacific Ocean, with an arbour, signing table, sea-grass runner and champagne toast available, and a covered area if it rains. She can also point couples to free council locations nearby.

Couples from overseas are a regular part of her work, and Ann helps with the Notice of Intended Marriage and prepares the letter for immigration that partner and fiancé visa applications need. She also conducts same sex weddings, commitment ceremonies, renewals of vows and naming days. She travels for weddings across the Tweed, Byron Bay, the Gold Coast and its hinterland, South East Queensland and northern New South Wales.
