Ancora Weddings is a modern waterfront wedding venue at 118 Wharf Street, Tweed Heads, with absolute waterfrontage over the Terranora Inlet. It sits 10 minutes from Gold Coast Airport and five minutes from Snapper Rocks and Rainbow Bay. Inside, hardwood timber floors, white-panelled walls, floor-to-ceiling glass, woven basket lighting and a statement marble bar give the exclusive wedding space the feel of a Mediterranean beach club, with room for 130 seated or 150 standing.
Ceremonies are held in the waterside garden park next door, with the Tweed River as the backdrop and large trees for shade, and the white circular arbour seen in many photos is included in the ceremony package. For wet weather there are two sheltered options, on the adjoining deck overlooking the river or inside behind the glass. After the ceremony, guests move to the covered cocktail area and the wraparound deck, with hanging chairs and high stools, for drinks as the sun goes down.
The menus were created by co-owner and Food Director Lia Mason with Michelin-trained chef Matt Kemp, drawing on the original Taverna in Kingscliff for Mediterranean shared feasts, with favourites such as Byron Bay haloumi and slow-cooked lamb. Every package includes handmade timber tables, white bentwood chairs, fairy lights, a planner and an on-the-day coordinator.
