Across the Forest is a Sydney wedding photography studio based in Lavender Bay, established in 2015. Photographer Anton Kross shoots on both digital cameras and 35mm film, documenting weddings throughout Sydney, including the Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands. The approach is documentary first: genuine, unscripted moments rather than perfect poses, with gentle guidance during portraits so couples can stay present and enjoy their day.
Across the Forest is two people working together. Anton is the photographer couples spend the wedding day with, while Raya, a watercolour artist, edits every image and looks after the details before and after the day. The pair traded Russian winters for the Australian coast and say the local light and landscapes shape how they photograph. They have been shooting weddings for about 15 years, and Raya's illustrations also feature in the studio's watercolour wedding stationery.
Couples receive a sneak peek within days and the full gallery within weeks. Optional extras include a second photographer, a pre-wedding shoot, printed albums, an extra roll of 35mm film and a short highlight reel filmed during the ceremony and portraits. Weddings in Sydney, the Southern Highlands and Canberra carry no additional travel fee, and the studio also offers elopement and small wedding packages.
